Okay, so sadly I didn’t realize if my sim was too sleepy to swim, she would actually drown. My bad! She went skinny dipping with her lame boyfriend. I say LAME because she drowns while he is right there. SIMS..sheesh.

So after having a couple of sims fail at the singer life… this gold digger sim, Coco Boom shot to fame. She has a set of traits that seem to create the perfect performance sim. Comment below if you want to know what they are and i will tell you. She rocks every single show. Ok.. so now on to something else.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Sims fanatic from back in the day with the original Sims games. I hate violence though, so I don’t play first shooter or combat games… however, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have to deal with the random violent death… like having a meteor fall on my sim while he was on vacation in China. It said that a sudden darkness shadowed the area, then everyone started looking up at the sky… warning, if this happens to you.. RUN!!!! Because the meteor WILL FALL ON YOU!

One Month In Columbus – Relocation in the winter

I have been here for a month now and I can honestly say that I saw more of Columbus when I would visit from the west coast. So far I have basically seen the inside of my townhouse, the inside of work and the freeway in between… Ok, so that and the grocery stores, Starbucks and a couple of random restaurants.. Lots of snow… lots of staying in doors… maybe I will have more to report next month — depending on the weather – here are some photos from the past month… brrrrr

The Snow Broke My Car!

Ok, so the snow did not really break my car, but it certainly made it feel that way. In California, I have been driving on the freeway when an earthquake hit and that feels as if all four of your tires have blown out. You wiggle back and forth and try to gain control, then you notice everyone around you is having the same issue and the entire stream of cars starts to pull over. This past week, I drove in the snow for the first time

thinking it would be no big deal. I did pretty good until I got onto the freeway, then suddenly I started feeling a strange sensation like my tires were not connected to the road. I would get moments of traction following by a feeling that can only be described as SLIDING. I slowed down to about 35 ON THE FREEWAY and turned on my hazards. I thought maybe my tires were too low on air or maybe I had the wrong kind of tires. I kept going, but so slowly that now everyone was going around me. I felt bad, but clearly my license plate said Arizona, so maybe they attributed that to my issues. I don’t know. As I got off the freeway at my exit, I was horrified to realize that my brakes didn’t seem as effective. I pressed them slowly and as I got to the low point, the whole car would skid forward. I screamed a couple of times as I made my way home. The snow kept me in the house the rest of the week except for short trips around the corner – one that included a trip to Firestone to check the car. Apparently, there is nothing wrong with the car at all. I just don’t know how to drive in the snow. I don’t know that I can ever learn to drive in the snow… it just feels wrong! What do you think?

Life interrupted my life…

I have not looked at my screenplay in over a month. I feel terrible about it. When I relocated across the country, it didn’t occur to me that it would be so disrputive to my writing process. Change can be a source of inspiration or a terrible set back.

Other things have gone by the way side, like working out and effective meal planning, but I am most upset about my writing stall. I am actually ready to start marketing the script though, so maybe this is the best place for the interuption since there is a real seperation between the writing process and the selling process…

Do you have any suggestions for getting my writing process back in order?

Relocation – Columbus, Ohio – Fashion Mecca?

I didn’t know that Columbus was such an apparel and textile mecca till I moved here this week. Who would have thought, right? New York, Los Angeles… makes sense.. Ohio? Not so much.. and yet…Columbus’ retail sector’s biggest employer is clothing company Limited Brands, which is headquartered in New Albany.(Where I landed for now in a cute sustainable community called The Gramercy that was just built this year.) Retail brands within the Limited corporate umbrella include Victoria’s Secret, Pink (Victoria’s Secret), Bath & Body Works, and Henri Bendel. Companies that have been spun off from Limited Brands that are still headquartered in Central Ohio include Abercrombie & Fitch and Tween Brands, formerly Limited Too.

I was invited to a Victoria’s Secret Preview event a couple days after arriving. I really wish I could have gone, but moving takes up so much time.. I really won’t be settled for a month…

My new hair stylist told me she does hair for photoshoots with these companies on a regular basis and that many of the employees are her clients.

Interestingly, the mover who brought my items mentioned that he has seen a huge turn around of people that these companies relocate to work for them. He gave an example of a guy that was relocated to work in logistics and paid his own way back to San Francisco because the work enviorment was so intense. He said that many of the employees say they are “turned and burned” but I think if you love your work… you should probably be okay with not having much of a life, at least for a while… in fashion… there really isn’t a down time from what I understand…

I’d love to work in apparel someday.. it seems really fast paced and intense.. and I thrive on that.

Anyway, this is just a quick note.. I am so sleepy. I am sure this is littered with typos and odd punctuation, but hopefully you get my jist.
